This week we’ve been working hard to update our systems. This also applies to our mobile app. We’ve decommissioned our legacy ‘Competition’ app and fully switched to the RaceGorilla Pro app. Please make sure to update to the latest version for the best experience!
You can update or download our app on the:
- Apple App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/racegorilla-pro/id1539227111
- Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.racegorilla.pro
Why this matters
RaceGorilla has been around for over 10 years, supporting race organizers, timekeepers, and sports enthusiasts all over the world. Over the past decade, our platform grew—so did the need for a solid, modern foundation.
This week, we successfully completed a major server upgrade, moving away from outdated infrastructure to a new, future-proof setup. This migration improves not only performance and stability but also positions us to deliver new features faster and more securely.
Goodbye, legacy app 👋
Along with the server upgrade, we’ve officially said goodbye to our legacy Competition app. These old native iOS and Android apps served us well, but they were becoming increasingly difficult to maintain and update.
From now on, RaceGorilla Pro is our one and only app. Built with Flutter, it allows us to roll out updates and improvements to both Android and iOS users simultaneously, offering a consistent and much improved experience across devices.
What’s new in the dashboard & results viewer?
The RaceGorilla dashboard also got a fresh round of improvements! You’ll notice:
- 🆕 New features to streamline subscription management
- ⚙️ Stability improvements across the existing feature set
We’re excited to bring you an updated, more unified platform to manage and time your competitions.
What’s new in the ‘RaceGorilla Pro’ app
Features which didn’t exist in our legacy app and are now part of the ‘RaceGorilla Pro’ app are:
- Connection status indication between app and our servers
- Timing logs
- Timing list views are ordered from top to bottom
- More information for timers and judges on status and number of participants per race
Thanks for being part of the ride
We’re incredibly grateful for the RaceGorilla community—some of you have been with us since the very beginning. These updates are a big step forward, and they wouldn’t be possible without your continued support and feedback.
Here’s to faster races, smoother events, and a future-ready RaceGorilla!
