Timing a Tower Running race
During a Tower Running race (also known as staircase running), the runners usually start at a fixed interval of about 30 seconds. RaceGorilla is the ideal and affordable solution for time trial races like these, as there is no need for chips and you can have as many splits as you have volunteers with a smartphone available. As an extra advantage in Tower Running, you will have no problem providing internet on the start and finish location because there will be internet available in every office building in some way.
The race results will appear online immediately, even with splits and time difference to the race leader. After each finisher the race results are updated immediately.
Time trial formats for tower running
Most tower running races, use the time trial format. In a time trial each competitor can be started individually, in pairs or in small groups.
A simple race only has a start and a finish. To give more insights of the race to the supporters, just add a number of split points.
For a quick test just use the standard format available in RaceGorilla.
The simple default race for a tower running event has a start and a finish, and a category of men and women. If you want to set up a race with more splits or more categories, use the RaceGorilla dashboard to set up a race entirely to you demands.
