It’s been quiet from our side for a while, but it’s the quietness you normally experience before the storm. We have been working super hard in the past months (and are still) to make the CloudTimer platform ready for lift of! That means publishing the iOS app in the App Store, the Android app in the Google Play store, and the brand new dashboard on the web. I just wanted to share our latest developments with you because we are getting close to making the platform publicly available.

Android & iOS
There was quite a step to make from the Android & iOS app for canoe slalom, to an app which is fully adaptable to all (time based) sports. We’ve also implemented improvements based on the valuable user feedback which we have received. Some of the changes include:

• Password save for login
• Direct login after account creation
• Competition creation with sport specific format
• Multiple splits enabled in competition
• Different score formats enabled
• Participants remain available after judging until all sections have been judged
• Performance and stability improvements

Dashboard
So far the CloudTimer dashboard was mostly a tool for us to manage competitions we timed ourselves. But it appeared to be a handy tool for more than just us. The only problem was that the online version was quickly hacked together as a beta test and not a stable tool. We’ve been completely redoing the dashboard making it a stable app for all of us to use. It already includes some new features and there are many more to come. We’ve already internally used it for some small races and personally I am really enthusiastic about how easy & quick you can make changes to a competition. Some functionalities include:

• Setting of default values for your competition
• Set categories, races, and the full competition structure
• Upload and manage startlists
• Manage & control results live during a competition
• Print & Export results

And we are working on more functionalities like:

• Permissions for the competition organisation team & volunteers
• Athletes subscriptions and payment
• Custom competition creation
• Customising the live results page

All in all it is a lot of work, but definitely worth it. We will have a platform online which we love to use ourselves and we surely hope you will love it as much as we do!
