During a lot of rowing events, long distances are covered and boats are out of sight for a large part of the race. To keep track of the race results it is possible to hire expensive gear to track the teams and to obtain very accurate race results.
RaceGorilla offers a real easy and low budget solution for timing rowing races. To get real time results at your rowing races, there is no need to hire expensive professionals and or their gear. Just gather a couple of volunteers with either an iPhone or Android smartphone, create a race on line and start timing.

Timing rowing races

Especially in the long distance or endurance events, times do not need to be very precise and can be timed by hand. With RaceGorilla you can have as many splits as you have volunteers, as you just pay for the number of participants. The times recorded at the sections or checkpoints, can be shown in the race office and to the public on-line or in the boathouse.
RaceGorilla offers both a group start (or mass) or individual starts (time trial). It is possible to time large numbers of participants, but for mass start races it is wise not to go over 100 persons, depending also on the finishing interval. Setting up a race with different stages and rounds is possible using  the event management dashboard.
